Health and Safety
Little Friends Preschool is committed to providing a clean, healthy environment for the children in our care.
We occupy approximately 13,000 square feet at 4001 Hendricks Avenue for which we pay rent. We are entirely self-contained within the Hendricks Avenue Baptist Church property.
In the B Wing, we occupy six classrooms. We are surrounded on three sides by the buildings, fenced on the fourth side by a six-foot metal fence.
In the E Wing, we occupy two classrooms and a second playground. The classrooms are locked and secure; a six-foot vinyl-covered chain-link metal fence surrounds the playground with two gates that remain locked at all times.
Security cameras are mounted on the playgrounds, and there is limited access to every area through a dedicated lock system. The preschool is entirely protected by Jacksonville’s emergency first responders, two stations of which are within two miles in each direction.
Our commitment to the well-being of our children compels us to take precautionary steps to keep them healthy as well as we can. We promote cleanliness and good hygiene regularly, with frequent handwashing by teachers and children after outdoor play, toileting, and before eating. Immunizations must be up to date before the child can begin school.
Teachers are alert to signs of illness and immediately use temperature checks and isolation for everyone’s well-being. You will be called to pick up your child if necessary. Your child must be kept home if he or she develops symptoms of a contagious disease.
Our complete health and safety protocols may be found in our online Parents Handbook.
